Applications for September 2018/19 are via the UCAS website. All of the places are for the School Direct Training Programme, we are not offering any salaried places for September 2018.

2018/19 Vacancies – 15 Early Years and Primary Places for September

General Primary (5-11) - Apply via: The Kendal Primary Partnership School Direct. Course Code: 365S

Early Years (3-7) - Apply via: The Kendal Primary Partnership Direct. Course Code: 36MH

Basic Entry requirements:

Degree - ideally related to a National Curriculum subject with additional A-Levels in other National Curriculum subjects.

Minimum degree required: Lower Second (Upper second is preferable)

School Experience - a minimum of ten days Nursery/Primary school experience within the last two years; five days in both Early Years and KS1 for EY trainees or five days in both KS1 and KS2 for General Primary trainees

GCSE Qualifications - a minimum of five GCSEs at grade C or above at the point of application, including grade C in English, mathematics and science plus at least one other National Curriculum subject.  A fifth GCSE may be a non-National Curriculum subject such as psychology, sociology or early childhood studies

Course Dates

​There will be an Induction Day in mid-July. Please note the PGCE course runs throughout the academic year. 

​Term dates for our course are the same as for Cumbria County Council schools.

​These are the official days when you will be required to attend sessions or be in school. 

​During the school holidays you will be expected to carry out independent study through research, work on assignments and lesson planning as well as having some time to re-charge your batteries.
